Die Caster – (1st and 2nd shift)

Job Purpose

Operates the die cast machines according to established settings in one or more given alloy departments. The class “A” Die Caster is determined by the successful completion of the Audit for Die Casters testing with a minimum score of 85%.

Essential Functions

  1. Set up and operate all die cast tools in one or more given alloy departments.
  2. Monitor, record, and adjust machine variables for optimum quality and cycle time. Report machine malfunctions.
  3. Complete process documents and attempt to resolve non-conformance.
  4. Perform maintenance on various machine parts.
  5. Communicate effectively to maintain quality levels. 
  6. Adheres to CWM’s Cultural Pillars (Maintain a positive attitude; Show respect for others; Meet commitments; Maintain transparency; Do not cater to rank).

Additional Responsiblities

  1. Maintain clean work area.
  2. May run multiple die casting machines when assigned.
  3. Train other die casters.
  4. Oversee department when assigned.
  5. Perform trim press operation when assigned.
  6. Keeps work area clean and free of safety hazards.
  7. All other tasks assigned.

Education, Experience, and Competencies

  1. 2 years of high school.
  2. 3 years of die casting experience, or equivalent.
  3. Good verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  4. Understands Quality Policy, Environemntal Policy, and Safety Policies.
