Based on its environmental leadership practices and participation in the EPA’s National Environmental Performance Track program, Chicago White Metal Casting has been recognized as a GreenBiz Leader company, the first and, we believe, still the only custom die casting facility so named by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

The EPA’s programs recognize and encourage top environmental performers—those who go beyond compliance with regulatory requirements to attain levels of environmental performance and management that benefit people, communities, and the environment.

CWM’s GreenBiz Leader recognition is the latest in a series of environmental initiatives and achievements leading its industry:

• 1st to achieve ISO 14001 Certification
• 1st participant in EPA’s Performance Track Program
• Member of EPA’s Sustainable Industries Partnership

And, of course, producer of Recyclable Products from Recyclable Alloys.

During CWM’s annual “Thank You” luncheon for all employees, suppliers, company retirees, and other guests, President Eric Treiber presented a summary of CWM’s accomplishments over the last year— including the remarkable 2010 sales increase of 21% over 2009.

Also noted were significant companywide investments in training, strategic new hires, new software, and advanced new equipment, such as the state-of-the-art Pioneer Sheffield Coordinate Measuring Machine in CWM’s Quality Assurance Dept.

International Sales Growth

Eric pointed out that over the last two decades, CWM’s international sales have continued to grow: at the end of 2010, CWM had shipped to 18 countries outside the U.S. By July 2011, these sales included 10 countries in the European Union, five countries in Asia, Israel in the Middle East, and Canada and Mexico in North America.

The “CWM” trademark, along with its corporate name “Chicago White Metal Casting, Inc.,” has been registered under the Madrid Agreement and the Protocol within the European Community and with the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office. The trademark of CWM is now acknowledged in 85 countries around the globe.
